Now based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, we continue to conduct research in Scotland and throughout North America. With a significant amount of the Scottish Core documentation now linked into family trees, the focus now shifts to linking to with our global Family.  

  We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the remarkable dedication of the General Register Office for Scotland and the National Archives of Scotland in assembling these genealogy records. The quality of their research is indeed, second to none!

Our Staff:

  When I originally started to verify our personal branch of the Birnie family, we were confronted with total confusion. My inherited tree was not only wrong, but the volume of common names (James, John, Mary, etc.) made research extremely difficult.  

  With other Birnie researchers facing the same obstacles, our only answer was to collect the entire Scottish core, then start the tree assembly process.

  I now have two remaining “collection” objectives. First, extend research to the pre-1855 Scottish data, and second, find the illusive family members that emigrated from Scotland.

  Granted, it is a slow process, however, the library is growing, and with your continued contributions, and advice, the Birnie Tree will be assembled!
